MidAmerica Nazarene University is a private, Christian, liberal arts university founded in 1966. The campus is located on 105 acres in Olathe, Kansas. In 2016, MNU had its accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission reaffirmed. Offering over 40 undergraduate majors, the university is also known for its accelerated professional and graduate programs, including undergraduate degrees in management, education, computer information systems, and nursing and graduate degrees in business, education, nursing, and counseling, and postgraduate certificates. Online offerings include classes in education, business, computer information systems, nursing and associate's-level studies. The Career and Life Calling office prepares students for a life of significance and purpose by fostering opportunities to explore and discern God-inspired calling, develop unique abilities, and live out vocations as servant leaders. Study abroad is encouraged as well as service-learning experiences. A variety of special interest clubs, traveling music groups, band, concert choir, student government, and outreach groups are available. The University provides intercollegiate competition in football, volleyball, softball, baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's cross country and track. Chapel services and other opportunities for spiritual deepening provide an emphasis on students' spiritual formation.Total enrollment for the Fall 2018 semester was 1,882 students. The five largest undergraduate programs were Nursing, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Elementary Education, and Kinesiology. MNU offers 39 traditional undergraduate majors; degree-completion programs in nursing, business, and education; and graduate degrees in business, counseling, education, and nursing. MNU facts: MNU is the only private university in the state of Kansas to offer a graduate counseling program accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP). MNU's 2018 NCLEX-RN pass rate for BSN graduates was 95.7% - the ninth year in a row that this rate has exceeded the national average, and the eleventh year in a row that this rate has exceeded the state average. MNU has offered innovative, accelerated adult degree completion and graduate programs since 1987. The yearly economic impact of the University is more than $44 million annually in the state of Kansas.
