N Street Village supports women experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C. by offering a broad spectrum of services, housing, and advocacy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. We partner with women to achieve stability and make meaningful gains in their housing, income, employment, mental health, physical health, and addiction recovery goals.

N STREET VILLAGE PROVIDES PERMANENT HOUSING WITH SUPPORTIVE SERVICES AS WELL AS THERAPEUTIC TRANSITIONAL, EMERGENCY SHELTER, AND DROP-IN DAY SERVICES FOR WOMEN EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. WE ALSO OPERATE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR LOW- AND MODERATE INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. WITH COMPREHENSIVE AND EVIDENCE-BASED SERVICES ADDRESSING BOTH EMERGENCY AND LONG-TERM NEEDS, WE HELP WOMEN ACHIEVE PERSONAL STABILITY AND MAKE MEANINGFUL GAINS IN THEIR HOUSING, INCOME, EMPLOYMENT, MENTAL HEALTH, PHYSICAL HEALTH AND ADDICTION RECOVERY IN AN ATMOSPHERE OF DIGNITY AND RESPECT. IN THE PAST YEAR, N STREET VILLAGE'S PROGRAMS AND SERVICES WELCOMED NEARLY 2,000 HOMELESS AND LOW-INCOME WOMEN. OF THOSE 2,000, 747 WOMEN AND 51 FAMILIES WERE PROVIDED SUPPORTIVE HOUSING. 189,503 MEALS WERE SERVED ACROSS THE VILLAGE'S FIVE LOCATIONS. THE MAJORITY OF THE WOMEN SERVED WERE AFRICAN AMERICAN, OVER 50 YEARS OLD, AND HAD NO INCOME WHEN THEY ARRIVED AT N STREET VILLAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME. 46% REPORTED EXPERIENCING A MENTAL ILLNESS, ADDICTION, OR BOTH WHILE 83% REPORTED HAVING A HIGH SCHOOL DEGREE OR HIGHER LEVEL OF EDUCATION. THIS YEAR, 90% OF RESIDENTS IN RECOVERY MAINTAINED THEIR SOBRIETY AND 97% OF RESIDENTS WITH A JOB MAINTAINED THEIR EMPLOYMENT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. 9 IN 10 CLIENTS SAID THEY FELT STRONGER AND MORE CONFIDENT SINCE COMING TO N STREET VILLAGE.
