Continuing programs: The institute was engaged with the city of Detroit to assist in developing a strategy for addressing and minimizing lead in drinking water that can serve as a national model for protecting public health. The scope of work includes developing new sampling protocols, procedures for identifying and replacing lead service lines, and procedures for sharing lead data and communicating risk of lead in drinking water. Additionally, other continuing programs include the revitalizing older cities program, Mississippi River cities and towns initiative program, Great Lakes Washington program, Mississippi River Basin program.
