Mission
The mission of Floyd County Humane Society is to advocate and provide for the welfare, protection, and humane treatment of companion animals in Floyd County, VA. Its objectives and activities in support of this mission are: to reduce the population of stray and unwanted pets by promoting and providing access to low-cost spay-and-neuter services; to maintain a stabilized population of feral cats in the county by augmenting and participating in community-based Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs; to assume comprehensive custodial care for as many homeless companion animals as possible; to facilitate the permanent placement of animals through adoption programs; to support the community in the humane and healthy treatment of their pets; and to heighten awareness of challenges with the pet population and implement solutions.
