Community Health - NACCHO's community and environmental health programs assist local health departments to promote health and prevent disease in communities. This is achieved by providing resources, tools, technical assistance and training. Programs include those in the areas of maternal, child, and adolescent health, access to primary care and mental health, injury prevention, traffic safety, food safety, climate change, birth defects prevention, disability and health, chronic disease prevention, tobacco control, immunization, infectious disease prevention and control, and HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention.
