Maryland Green School Program: MAEOE Manages and operates the Maryland Green School and Green Center programs. In 2018/19 there were 636 Maryland Green Schools and 42 Green Centers that participated in MAEOE programs involving and engaging approximately 101,855 students, teachers, parents and citizens. MAEOE awards Maryland Green School status through a rigorous application process. Applications are reviewed each year with stakeholder input. In 2018/19 we provided workshops for Green Centers, Green Leaders, formal and non-formal educators. Our Green Centers and Green Leaders (60 volunteers) support teachers and students in various aspects of the MD Green Schools process including successfully implementing sustainable environmental practices at schools.
