Moving Forward is dedicated to nurturing communities by using dance as a medium of cultural and social understanding. It provides a supportive environment for professional artists & youth. In 2018 Moving Forward held 16 performances that reached over 6000 audience members. It is the Smithsonian's first dance company in residence now celebrating its 26th anniversary season as Washington, DC's premiere modern dance company.
