Established In 1953, The United Nations Association Of The National Capital Area (Una-Nca) Is One Of The Oldest And Largest Chapters Of The United Nations Association Of The Usa. Serving The District Of Columbia, Maryland, And Northern Virginia, Una-Nca Strives To Increase Public Understanding And Support Of The United Nations; Encourage Constructive Us Leadership In Strengthening The United Nations; And Prepare Present And Future Leaders To Work For A Better World, Both Globally And Locally.

EDUCATION: Empowering the next generation of global leaders through Model United Nations - UNA-NCA's signature education program Global Classrooms DC (GCDC) engages over 1,000 middle and high school students through year-round programming. Students learn about important global challenges, while developing skills in public speaking, conflict resolution, and critical thinking. During the 2018-2019 school year, 74.8% of participants attended public schools and 30.5% were enrolled in Title 1 schools. Check our GCDC's Support a Delegate campaign. Bringing professional development opportunities to students and young professionals - Nearly 50% of UNA-NCA membership is comprised by young professionals and students. UNA-NCA provides a unique forum for learning about international issues and professional development and mentoring opportunities. The International Career Dinner Series bring seasoned professionals who share their professional journeys, answer questions, and offer advice. Graduate Fellows Program - UNA-NCA's Graduate Fellows Program attracts students from around the world pursuing graduate studies in the Washington Metropolitan area.
