RAPID RE-HOUSING SERVICES IS ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO MOVE HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS AND THOSE EXPERIENCING VIOLENCE TO PERMANENT HOUSING AND ECONOMIC STABILITY. RAPID RE-HOUSING PLACES A PRIORITY ON MOVING RESIDENTS QUICKLY TO THEIR OWN HOUSING USING A VARIETY OF STRATEGIES. WHEN A PERSON/AND OR THEIR FAMILY ENTERS EMERGENCY HOUSING, THE FIRST PRIORITY SUBSEQUENT TO SAFETY IS DEVELOPING A HOUSING PLAN. THROUGH THE USE OF AN OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE-BASED ASSESSMENT TOOL, RESIDENTS ARE ASSESSED FOR A TYPE OF HOUSING THAT BEST MEETS THEIR NEEDS. THOSE THAT SCORE FOR THE RAPID RE-HOUSING PROGRAM WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A HOUSING LOCATOR IN AN EFFORT TO HELP THEM FIND AND SECURE PERMANENT HOUSING. REGARDLESS OF THEIR INCOME, HOUSING LOCATOR'S WILL ASSIST RESIDENTS WITH A BUDGET AND DETERMINE THE AMOUNT THEY CAN AFFORD FOR HOUSING. ONCE A HOUSING IS FOUND, THE HOUSING CASE MANGER IS ASSIGNED. RESIDENTS CAN RECEIVE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TOWARDS FIRST MONTH'S RENT, RENTAL DEPOSITS, UTILITY DEPOSITS AND PAYMENT OF ARREARS. ONGOING FINANCIAL ASSESSMENT CAN BE PROVIDED IN THE FORM OF A DECLINING SUBSIDY OR UP TO SIX-MONTHS OF A PARTIAL SUBSIDY. IN ADDITION, IN-HOME INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT IS PROVIDED UP TO ONE-YEAR IN AN EFFORT TO REDUCE RECIDIVISM.
