About this organization
Mission
The mission of the American Gas Foundation is to be an independent source of information, research and programs on energy and environmental issues that affect public policy, with a particular emphasis on natural gas.
About
Georgetown Energy Prize Descriptions: The American Gas Foundation was a founding partner of the Georgetown University Energy Prize, GUEP. Twenty-eight AGA member companies partnered with 44 communities that competed for the GUEP. These companies requested AGF support to enable them to build upon their utility-community partnerships. In response to this request, AGF engaged a consultant (Sandherr Public Affairs LLC) to support and collaborate with the AGA member companies to assure the communities competing in the GUEF successfully integrated natural gas options into their energy efficiency programs. Achievements: The objective of this initiative was to document the value derived from the GUEP experience. The report included successful case studies and described various collaborative approaches that natural gas utilities have employed to educate policymakers, key stakeholders, and the general public about the efficiency benefits of natural gas usage.
