ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES PREPARE KIDS TO BE MORE ENGAGED IN THE CLASSROOM; HEALTHY LIFESTYLES PROGRAMS PROMOTE OVERALL WELLNESS THROUGH PHYSICAL ACTIVITY, HEALTHY EATING, AND MINDFULNESS; AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ALLOW MEMBERS TO ORGANIZE CLUB AND COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS. CLUB PROGRAMS INCLUDE HIGH-YIELD ACTIVITIES IN FIVE CORE AREAS: THE ARTS; CHARACTER AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT; HEALTH AND LIFE SKILLS; EDUCATION, TECHNOLOGY AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT; AND SPORTS, FITNESS AND RECREATION. HIGH QUALITY PROGRAMS, COMBINED WITH AFFORDABILITY AND ACCESSIBILITY, ARE THE CLUB'S MOST EFFECTIVE STRATEGIES IN REACHING UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS THAT NEED THE CLUB MOST. ENGAGING KIDS IN ENRICHING CURRICULUMS, THE CLUB'S SUMMER READING AND STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ARTS, AND MATH) PROGRAMS ARE PROVEN TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON ACADEMIC SUCCESS AMONG CLUB MEMBERS. THE CLUB IS OPEN DURING CRITICAL OUT-OF-SCHOOL-TIMES, INCLUDING EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL, ALL DAY DURING THE SUMMER, MOST SCHOOL BREAKS, AND SELECTED EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS. TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO KIDS WHO NEED US MOST, CLUBS ARE LOCATED IN AREAS WHERE POVERTY RATES ARE HIGH. CLUB MEMBERSHIP FEES TO FAMILIES ARE ONLY $15 TO $150 ANNUALLY AND REPRESENT ONLY 2% OF THE ORGANIZATION'S REVENUE.IN FY19, AT LEAST 65% OF THE CLUB'S REGISTERED MEMBERS QUALIFIED FOR FREE OR REDUCED-PRICE LUNCH, 48% LIVED IN SINGLE-PARENT HOUSEHOLDS, AND 57% REPRESENTED MINORITY ETHNICITIES. WITH THE SUPPORT OF HIGH-LEVEL PROGRAMS LED BY DEDICATED AND PROFESSIONALLY-TRAINED CLUB STAFF, 99% OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MEMBERS ARE PROGRESSING TO THE NEXT GRADE LEVEL ON TIME.
