THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE IS TO CONSERVE AND PROTECT THE NATURAL, HISTORIC, AND CULTURAL RESOURCES OF THE ENO RIVER BASIN. DURING 2019 THE ORGANIZATION WAS IN CONTACT WITH MORE THAN 35 INTERESTED OWNERS OF LAND ALONG THE RIVER AND TRIBUTARY STREAMS, PROVIDING INFORMATION ABOUT LAND AND WATER QUALITY CONSERVATION OPTIONS, AND ACTIVELY WORKING WITH SEVERAL OF THOSE OWNERS TO FINALIZE NEGOTIATIONS TO PERMANENTLY PROTECT THE PROPERTY, AND CLOSING ON TWO CONSERVATION PROJECTS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED PUBLIC INFORMATION AND INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IN THE FORM OF ORGANIZED WEEKLY EDUCATIONAL HIKES IN WINTER AND SPRING, VOLUNTEER LAND STEWARDSHIP WORKDAYS EACH MONTH, AND ITS 2-DAY FESTIVAL FOR THE ENO OUTREACH AND EDUCATION EVENT. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS WITH CLASSROOM TEACHERS TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS ON LOCAL ECOLOGY, ASSISTS ENO RIVER STATE PARK PERSONNEL WITH EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS, ORGANIZES INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND RUNS A TWO-WEEK-LONG SUMMER SCIENCE EDUCATION CAMP FOR ELEMENTARY AGED CHILDREN AND A ONE-WEEK SUMMER OUTDOOR SCIENCE EDUCATION EXPERIENCE FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL AGED TEENS.
