MCAR provides shelter and care to unwanted, neglected and abused pets in Mitchell County. We strive to reconnect stray pets with their owners, vaccinating the unvaccinated against Rabies, Distemper/ Parvo and Kennel Cough. We provide veterinary care to those in our shelter who need it and spay or neuter each applicable pet before Adoption. In 2019, 1006 animals were surrendered to our care. 100 of these were returned to their owners and 803 were either adopted or transferred to partner shelters.
