DISTRIBUTION OCCURS THROUGHA VARIETY OF METHODS AND VENUES, INCLUDING 48 RECIPIENT AGENCY PARTNERS, 84 BACKPACK BUDDIES SITES, 29 MOBILE MARKET PARTNERSHIPS, 27 SCHOOL PANTRIES, AND 29 SENIOR GROCERY BAGS IN A SEVEN COUNTY SERVICE AREA. THE FOOD SHUTTLE DISTRIBUTED 5,517,166 POUNDS OF FOOD IN FISCAL YEAR 2018/2019, 36% OF WHICH WAS FRESH PRODUCE.INDIVIDUALS SERVED INCLUDE: 20,413 GROCERY BAGS DELIVERED DIRECTLY TO THE DOORS OF SENIORS AT RISK OF HUNGER; 96,057 BACKPACK BUDDIES DISTRIBUTED TO 2,800 UNIQUE CHILDREN; 1,787 MEALS SERVED TO YOUTH OFF OUR FOOD TRUCK, THE MOBILE TASTINESS MACHINE; 14,515 INDIVIDUALS ACCESSING 85,497 POUNDS OF FOOD THROUGH SCHOOL PANTRIES; AND 76,010 INDIVIDUALS SERVED THROUGH MOBILE MARKETS - ALL WITH THE HELP OF 35,120 VOLUNTEER HOURS LOGGED.URBAN AGRICULTURE PROMOTES FOOD EQUITY, LOCAL FOOD SYSTEMS, AND KNOWLEDGE OF ORGANIC PRACTICES. THE FOOD SHUTTLE PROVIDES COMMUNITY GARDENING SPACE AND INSTRUCTION AT TWO GARDEN SITES IN RALEIGH AND DURHAM, PROMOTING FOOD INDEPENDENCE AND HEALTHY ACTIVITY AMONGST PARTICIPANTS - CHILDREN AND ADULTS. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2018/2019 TWENTY-FOUR INDIVIDUALS UTILIZED OUR CAMDEN STREET COMMUNITY GARDEN PLOTS. URBAN AGRICULTURE EDUCATION PROVIDED INSTRUCTION TO 345 ADULTS AND 1,185 YOUTH. OUR PRODUCTION FARM SUPPLIED 27,482 POUNDS OF PRODUCE TO OUR FARM STAND, MOBILE MARKETS DISTRIBUTIONS, SENIOR GROCERY BAGS AND RESTAURANT SALES.
