Ronald McDonald House of Columbia SC works to improve lives of children and their families operating RMHS of Columbia SC.The house is a type of home that serves critically ill and injuried children of whom are receiving medical care in a columbia SC area hospital. More importantly, the house serves as a place of respite for families during difficult times in therr lives-the uncertain medical condition of a child. The current house consists of 16 bedrooms with private baths and provides most of the amenities of a home - including a warm comfortable place to sleep,linens,toiletries,and the availability of three meals each day. in 2017 the RMHC which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, served 200 families which resulted in aproximately 4959 guest with the average length of stay of 14 nights.During 2017 the total occupancy equaled approximately 92% and there were 110 nights where the house was full.(continued on attached schedule O) Ronald mcDonald House Charities of Columbia SC, supports a National organization, Ronald McDonald House Charities Global, by sharing a portion of the revenues received in donation box collections.
