For the period from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, Voices for Children Foundation provided financial and other support that enabled the eleventh judicial circuit guardian ad litem (GAL) program to serve a total of 2959 Miami-Dade County dependent children placed under the supervision of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and our kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc. These children were provided with legal advocacy and other types of support from caring, committed adults including a total of 947 GAL volunteers who served 1,465 dependent children, 48 guardian ad litem program, staff who served 1,487 dependent children and youth. During this time period, 181 new guardian ad litem volunteers were recruited.
