During the school year, visitations are conducted from elementary schools, plus charter, private and home schooled children. Programs meet Florida state education standards and are taught by staff and volunteers. To a lesser extent there are groups of children visiting during the summer. For the entire year, approximately 6,106 participated in the student environmental education programs. Students are exposed to academic concepts like adaptation, habitat, food webs, photosynthesis and much more. For many children this is their first experience in a natural outdoor classroom.
