Mission

To Discover, Preserve, Present and Keep Alive the stories of nation's oldest port as symbolized by our working St. Augustine Lighthouse. We preserve the patrimony of the State of Florida by preserving six historical structures on the National Register of Historic Places. We serve school age children including mainstream at at-risk students with camp programs during school breaks. We reduce food stress, providing day care and counteract the gap in student learning and the decline in knowledge retention over school breaks. Museum scientists and field school students study submerged cultural resources in the waters of the Nation's oldest, continually occupied, European, seaport including shipwrecks dating from 1565 to the present day. The most recent was a 1782 British shipwreck.
