Mission

To promote St. Johns County as a premier arts destination by supporting arts, culture and heritage events to generate incremental overnight stays in St. Johns County, to provide micro-grants to arts organizations, and to act as a clearinghouse for art and cultural activity in St. Johns County.

About

The St. Johns Cultural Council SJCC has an active agreement with St. Johns County to administer the portion of the Countys tourist development tax revenue designated for support of arts, culture, and heritage programming. Accomplishments included 1 revising the countys prior grant program to better comply with the Florida Statutes, 2 hosting grants and technical assistance workshops, and 3 developing a five year strategic plan for expenditures of the tourist development tax funds. Grants were reviewed and awarded for the period October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019. Actual payments of the grants are administered by St. Johns County.
