Mission
WaterStep saves lives with safe water and sanitation by empowering communities to take care of their own long-term water needs. We believe that the best solutions to water problems are rooted in simple tools and effective training, which we provide.
About
In 2018 WaterStep (WS) impacted 229,516 lives with access to safe water, sanitation and health education. Bringing our grand total close to 2.4 milion lives served providing hope and a healthier life. We did this by deploying 240 pieces of water treatment and sanitation equipment in 25 different countries and conducted training for 372 individuals, mostly virtual at a very low cost. We have 27 active partners working on 180 different water projects across the globe. WS continued its efforts to provide support for the disaster stricken island of Puerto Rico, ultimately installing equipment in municipalities across the entire island. We responded with equipment and training in other disasters, including Guatemala (volcano eruption), North Carolina (hurricane flooding)(Continued on Schedule O) and Congo (Ebola outbreak). Our Community Education and Engagement Program provided eduction to over 100 groups and generated approximately 187,000 pounds of shoes to be repurposed and used around the world to benefit others.
