Our mission is to promote excellence in education and provide broad-based community support for Lake Pend Oreille School District. As an independent organization, Panhandle Alliance for Education will create and sustain an endowment to provide resources in support of effective teaching, learning and school management.

PAFE's teacher grants are awarded on an annual basis to teachers who compete for available funds. Awards are based on innovation, collaboration, impact on education, and a cost benefit analysis. Examples include classroom technology, lab and safety equipment, musical instruments, robotics, math and book clubs, and more. There were 41 teacher grants awarded benefitting 3500 students. We also provided 20,000 for instructional coaches. These coaches are considered to be one of the most powerful assets to modern education. Coaches are a vital resource for all educators in the LPO school district. They instruct all teachers to be the best they can possibly be, because effective teachers matter more to student achievement than any other aspect of schooling. This program served approximately 300 teachers in the LPO school district with two coaches.
