Infant-Preschool child care, pre-kindergarten care, School Age Before and After School Child Care, and Summer Day Camp served 470 kids in 2018. The YMCA also has addressed a need for working parents by offering 2nd shift and weekend care. The Fayette County YMCA is the largest provider of care for families receiving Ohio Department of Job and Family Services assistance in the region with 46% of our participants receiving assistance. The YMCA also provided scholarship assistance for 25 kids to participate in summer day camp. YMCA child care programs for ages six weeks to 13 years provide a lasting experience of personal enrichment in a safe, supervised, asset building environment. Child Care offers adventure and learning activities that provide challenge and promote spiritual awareness, mental development, physical well-being, social growth, and self-respect. Child Care helps prepare kids for school and grow to be successful adults that contribute to the health of the community.
