Accreditation: Accreditation is a voluntary process of self-evaluation and continuous improvement that reflects a school's compliance with required standards/indicators; involves a self-study; and includes a peer review by educators from outside of their school. Independent schools that seek accreditation through SAIS understand that the process is designed specifically for the school. SAIS accreditation allows the school to tell their story, to set their goals, to be 'independent,' while still fulfilling the stringent and focused compliance requirements of SAIS's process. SAIS accreditation focuses on the school and their efforts to fulfill the school's mission.
