DEVELOP AND SPONSOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH, HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICALS, AND OTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES. In July, 2016, 11 Orthopaedic Surgeons and Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians graduated from ASMI's Sports Medicine Fellowships bringing our total number of graduates to 409. ASMI continues to be the largest trainer of Sports Medicine Physicians in the US. In January 2018, ASMI conducted our 36th Annual Injuries in Baseball Course. This course is the longest running course of its kind. ASMI continues to develop and sponsor other educational programs, conduct scientific research and continue other charitable activities as well as offer pre-participation sports physicals for middle and high school students in the community.
