In 2018, the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) broke the 2016 pro se clinics' record with regard to the number of people served. In 2016, MVLP assisted 263 clinic participants, which, at that time, was the largest number of individuals assisted at MVLP clinics in 5 years. In 2018, the project assisted 362 clinic participants, which is the largest number of individuals assisted at MVLP clinics since 2011. MVLP received 3 additional grants this year (Federal Bar Association, American Bar Endowment and Entergy Corporation) to expand MVLP's programs. MVLP launched the Mississippi Settlement Assistance Program with the United States District Court for Southern District. MVLP began the initial phase of redeveloping MVLP's website to make it more user-friendly for attorneys and the general public. MVLP increased the number of judgments received and cases placed.
