About
supporting families: in addition to providing direct support to over 300 families of children, we assisted with structural and systemic changes so that more families receive the type of support they find most helpful. we embedded a family partner into the mississippi wraparound institute to assist with training of and technical assistance to wraparound facilitators who will work with thousands of families throughout the state. we produced two awareness videos that stress that even young children can have emotional challenges, children can and do better and that the best way to help children is to partner with their families. one video featured katelyn brown, a miss mississippi finalist who described her journey as a child and young person dealing with anxiety and the other video featured jackson mayor, chokwe antar lumumba, and his family. he shared as both a young father wanting to support his children's development and also as the mayor of jackson committed to all of jackson's families. we project that these videos will touch the lives of at least 20,000 families over the next year. we increased our support of families of young children, including through a partnership with springboard to opportunity.
