Research and conservation: on site training in behavioral research for undergraduate students, resource for postgraduate students and investigators. Management of natural protected area and collaboration with primate conservation efforts overseas. Regularly publish scientific findings in peer reviewed journals and present and actively participate in professional meetings. Education: educational programs targeting students of all ages, ethnicities, abilities and socioeconomic backgrounds. Programs for middle and high school students include lectures, tours and hands on experience in studying the behavior of primates. A program engaging youth with special needs in meaningful and responsible work and an internship/service learning program for high school students. Animal care: lifetime quality care to retired laboratory primates, confiscated/donated primates and their special companions (60 new world monkeys.) Service learning students and volunteers assist trained staff in caring for the monkeys. Participate in owl monkey population management with the association of zoos and aquariums and list our animals in a national studbook.
