Mission
Amigos was founded in 1991 to aid South Florida's most valuable resource - its children. Amigos For Kids aims to increase awareness about child abuse, and strengthen the community by helping to educate families and prevent the painful cycle of child abuse and neglect. Since April 2004, Amigos has spearheaded efforts in cooperation with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami-Dade County School Board Commissioners, the Mayors of the City of Miami, Coral Gables, Miami-Dade County, and other local community leaders and organizations to provide an informative series of events. Its purpose is to create awareness, through education and community involvement, and promote positive parenting as relates to the issues of child abuse.
