Mirror Image Arts uses theatre to work with young people (ages 8-21) to build their social-emotional wellbeing. We partner with schools, community organizations, and juvenile justice centers to bring our programming to them.

In FY2019, we grew our number of programs from 1 to 4. Beside our "Your Voice" program, we added "It Starts With Us","Restorative Theatre" and "Rehearsal for Reality". We served approximately 1,240 youth and provided workshops to 52 youth development professionals. Our evaluation results from FY2019(compiled July 2018 - June 2019): 1)A statistically significant increase in empathy skills.2)75% of students were able to stand up and speak confidently in front of the group. 3)85% of students responded that the facilitator expected me to show respect and participation.4)83% of students responded that they would like to participate in this program again.5)72% of students responded that the facilitator was interested in student ideas.6)81% of students responded that the facilitator cares about me. 7)76% of students responded that the facilitator challenged me to try new choices. 8)62% of students responded that their voice matters to other students in the program. Our programs engage young people and youth development professionals in interactive theatre performances and workshops that support social-emotional learning.
