Mission

The Post Oak School was founded to provide a superior Montessori environment and dynamic learning experiences which are designed according to the developmental characteristics and needs of children to guide and nurture each child intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

About

The Post Oak School provides a comprehensive Montessori education, based on the principals and practices of Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)and accredited by the International Schools of the Southwest (ISAS), to a diverse population of approximately 500 students from infancy to high school. In keeping with Dr. Montessori's ideals, children work in multi age classrooms with a high level of freedom in choosing their own foundations in language, math, geography, science, music, and other disciplines. During the 2012-2013 school year, the school added a High School on a second campus located in the museum district of Houston which incorporates the principles of Dr. Montessori as well as the International Baccalaureate. In 2016, the museum district campus was expanded with the construction of an additional building. The High School moved into the new building and the Middle School was relocated to the new campus for the 2016-2017 school year.
