The mission of the Child Crisis Center is to protect children, newborn through thirteen years of age, from abuse/neglect by providing temporary short-term emergency shelter and family support services.

About

The child crisis center nursery and shelter provides 24/7 care for children, ages newborn through 13 years, whose family is experiencing a crisis situation or in critical need for short-term respite care. While in our care, the children are provided basic needs in a safe, secure, and stable, living environment. The children are engaged in supervised structured activities designed for personal development and enjoyment. The reason for admitting children vary from medical crisis, military field training, stress relief, homelessness or threat of homelessness, incarceration, neglect, abandonment, drug/alcohol abuse, domestic violence and mental health issues. The number of total admissions in 201 was 369. Our shelter houses an on-site therapist to monitor emotional safety of the children while they are in our care. Staff is highly trained in trauma informed care, utilizing specialized techniques
