About

The scholarship program began in 1993 when the scholarship trail ride committee was established. The funds raised went to scholarships for graduating seniors. Along with the proceeds from the scholarship trail ride, 5% of the livestock and homemaking auctions of the fair are taken as a contribution to the scholarship fund. Since the program began in 1993 over $2.6 million has been given in college scholarships. In 2018, the MCFA awarded a total of $125,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors in Montgomery County! College-bound graduates received 50 $2500 academic scholarships and $20,500 in prize scholarships from a combination of the fair queen contest, colt show hi-point program, replacement heifer program and calf scramble program.
