About

The Glen Canyon Natural History Association engages in activities of a business nature to further the exempt purposes of the association. The association provides the public with interpretive information and education regarding the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The association raises funds through sales of interpretive materials to support NPS educational programs that would go unfunded otherwise. These include 'Every Kid in a Park,' dark skies programs, monitoring of flora and fauna species in the park and engagement of native American youth in conservation programs. The association contracts with the Bureau of Reclamation to provide year-round guided tours and interpretation of Glen Canyon Dam and the Colorado watershed. The association raises funds through sales of interpretive materials to fund programming on the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, including research on native species, engaging youth in educational programs, and promoting local community events.
