Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen (THA) is a 52 bed acute-care hospital serving the northern Collin County area since 2000. The hospital's services include emergency department, heart and vascular, back & spine, orthopedics, imaging, nutrition, rehabilitation, digestive health, urology, women and infant care, wound care, hyperbaric medicine and behavioral health. THA was designated as Baby-Friendly Hospital by the World Health Organization and UNICEF, and an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. THA has more than 380 employees and 520 physicians practicing on its medical staff. THA had 9,687 patient days, 3,080 discharges, 341 births, 43,006 outpatient encounters, and 22,364 emergency room visits during the year. THA provides quality medical healthcare services regardless of the patient's race, creed, sex, national origin, handicap, age or ability to pay. THA provides care to persons covered by governmental programs, including Medicare and Medicaid, for reimbursement that does not always cover the cost of providing the care. THA also provides charity care to patients who are unable to pay for the services they receive.
