About this organization
Mission
Lovingly nicknamed “the little school with the big heart,” our heart remains to see that every child with special needs has a place to learn no matter the odds or diagnosis. It is exactly upon this calling that The Arbor established its mission to educate, empower, and build hope for children with significant special needs and their families.
About
The Arbor serves up to 44 students and their families through implementation of a 100% individualized academic program for each student. In the classrooms the student/teacher ratio does not exceed 2:1. Where most private schools, even among those that cater to children with special needs, focus on a specific diagnostic group, The Arbor works with students regardless of their diagnosis or perceived limitations. As a result of this commitment to our students, The Arbor's student body is extremely neurologically diverse and physically involved. Children at The Arbor present a wide range of disabilities including autistic-spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and a variety of other neurological and seizure disorders. For more information, see Schedule O.
