Our mission is to remove health barriers impacting the health, learning and life success of Silicon Valley youth and to achieve our mission, we focus on three key strategies: improving health care access and utilization, changing health behavior through education, and advocating for health policy and systems change.
About
The DentalFirst program screens children for dental issues and provides follow up to those parents whose children's screening results indicated that they have untreated dental issues. In FY 2018-2019, Healthier Kids Foundation dental screened 20,533 children at 268 sites. The urgent/emergency referral rate was 31% and 67% of cases were closed with a successful outcome.
