THE COLORADO ASSOCIATION FOR INFANT MENTAL HEALTH (COAIMH) HAD ANOTHER PRODUCTIVE AND EXCITING YEAR IN 2018. OUR MEMBERSHIP BENEFITED FROM SEVERAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES. COAIMHS MISSION IS TO EXPAND AND ENRICH THE KNOWLEDGE BASE OF COLORADOS EARLY CHILDHOOD PROFESSIONALS.SOME 2018 HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE THE ANNUAL HARMON LECTURE IN JUNE; AN EXPLORATION IN THE WORK OF CULTURAL RESPONSE, RESILIENCE AND WELLNESS WITHIN THE SPANISH-SPEAKING IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY. IN MAY2018, COAIMH PRESENTED THE SPRING TEACH-IN, CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS: STRENGTHENING CONNECTIONS AND INCREASING POSITIVE OUTCOMES. IN AUGUST, 2018,COAIMH CO-SPONSORED THE THIRD ANNUAL REFLECTIVE SUPERVISION AND CONSULTATION (RS/C). COAIMH FOCUSED THE EVENT ON REFLECTIVE SUPERVISION AND EQUITY; THE 3RD ANNUAL REFLECTIVE SUPERVISION/CONSULTATION SYMPOSIUM; MINING THE DEPTHS, AND EXPLORATION OF EQUITY THROUGH THE REFLECTIVE PROCESS. WE ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE NATIONAL ZERO TO THREE CONFERENCE IN DENVER THIS PAST OCTOBER. BOARD MEMBERS WERE PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE CONFERENCE AND SEVERAL WERE CHOSEN TO PROVIDE PRESENTATIONS. A SPECIALCOAIMH WORKSHOP WAS PLANNED AND EXECUTED. EACH OF THESE EVENTS WERE WELL ATTENDED AND INCLUDED OUTREACH TO COMMUNITIES OUTSIDE OF THE DENVER METRO AREA. THROUGH THESE ACTIVITIES, WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AN OPPORTUNITY TO REACH INDIVIDUALS IN THE EARLY CHILDHOOD FIELD FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. COAIMH WAS ABLE TO FULLY REVISE THE COLORADO FOUNDATIONS CURRICULUM BASED ON FEEDBACK FROM PARTICIPANTS AND TRAINERS. IN ADDITION, THE REVISED CURRICULUM WAS LINGUISTICALLY AND CULTURALLY TRANSLATED INTO SPANISH. COLORADO FOUNDATIONS IS AN 8-MODULE FOUNDATIONAL TRAINING FOR INFANT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD PROFESSIONALS. THIS REVISION AND TRANSLATION CONTINUES TO EQUIP COLORADOS EARLY CHILDHOOD COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE A CONTINUUM OF HIGH-QUALITY, CONSISTENT INFANT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. COAIMH CONTINUES TO WORK ON EXPANSION OF OUR INFANT MENTAL HEALTH ENDORSEMENT (IMH-E) AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER AGENCIES ACROSS THE STATE TO SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING REFLECTIVE SUPERVISION. AS A RESULT OF THIS COLLABORATION, WE EXPANDED THE COHORT OF INDIVIDUALS WITH THE IMH-E. WE ANTICIPATE THIS GROWTH WITH CONTINUE RAPIDLY OVER COMING YEARS. FINALLY, COAIMH CONTINUED TO TAKE A ROLE IN POLICY WORK AT THE STATE LEVEL, THROUGH PARTICIPATION IN POLICY AND ADVOCACY COMMUNITY MEETINGS RELATED TO INFANT MENTAL HEALTH.
