Great Places- Building on work from previous years, Midtown continued efforts in 2018 related to stakeholder engagement and predevelopment at several key sites, principally the area around 38th and Illinois Street as part of the City of Indianapolis Great Places 2020 program to revitalize specific neighborhoods in the city. Activities and related expenses included meetings with area property owners, a review of zoning at key sites, an analysis of public and private resources which might aid in future redevelopment efforts. Working with leaders from various neighborhood groups, Midtown evaluated land use, environmental, and available public funding for redevelopment of vacant and blighted properties.
