Mission
The Beat, Berkeley Performing Arts, Inc. is a non-profit educational and public benefit organization focused on using dance, music and other vehicles of creative expression as a means for community and leadership development.
About
During the year 2018 the studio continued to extend its outreach programs to children and young people. The ballet classes remain a big success in introducing youth to the fine arts and dance in particular. The series of fitness, flexibility through movement, and exercise classes were especially helpful for seniors. We hope to continue these activities in the future since general fitness for seniors is an excellent form of preventative medicine that helps them and others maintain a healthy lifestyle and is encouraged by the health industry, including Medicare.
