In 2017 mhca held a statewide symposium attended by 157 participants with emphasis on continuing education for stemi and stroke systems of care free of charge, and 6.0 cme/ce credits were awarded by st. dominic continuing education office and bureau of ems. Quarterly statewide meetings were held live and also webexed to present aggregate ms data vs national data to members. Bimonthly stemi & stroke coordinators/data collectors' meetings were held at host hospitals across the state to discuss and share best practices. Mhca gifted aha funds to make ms the only state in the usa to fully fund cpr in schools with hands only cpr training kits to train high schools students in all private schools in 2017. Public schools were fully funded in 2016. Mhca began offering partial funding (50% payment of hospital implementation fee and 100% of year one of a three year contract) for pulsara, a software app to reduce time to treatment from field ems to hospital with regard to stemi and stroke.
