More about this organization
Mission
Charitable and educational activities to support scientific and technological advances in the area of organ and tissue preservation, in order to advance human health.
About
In partnership with other organizations including the American Society of Transplantation and International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories, we undertook an in-depth research project examining the potential applications of biopreservation science to various areas of human health. These included organ transplantation, tissue transplantation and reconstructive surgery, basic biomedical research, pre-clinical drug testing, oncofertility, cosmetics testing, tissue engineering, and cell therapy. The main outcome of this research has been a plethora of scientific conference sessions, talks, webinars, and other events, as well as three peer-reviewed publications in preparation. The research gathered has also formed much of the basis for our publicly available scientific grantwriting resources and the research agenda for the Biostasis Research Institute (see below).
