IN FISCAL YEAR 2018 TO 2019, THE COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER ASSISTED 278 INDIVIDUALS TO NAVIGATING COMMUNITY SERVICES AND RESOURCES FOR HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, TRANSPORTATION, HEALTHCARE AND OTHER NEEDS. THE JAIL OUTREACH TEAM PROVIDED REENTRY WORKSHOPS AND/OR PEER SUPPORT TO 365 INDIVIDUALS BEFORE THEIR RELEASE FROM INCARCERATION. THE STREET OUTREACH TEAM PROVIDED PEER SUPPORT, CONNECTIONS TO SERVICES, AND EMERGENCY SUPPLIES TO 29 INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS AND LIVING ON THE STREETS. PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS PROVIDED INDIVIDUAL AND/OR GROUP PEER SUPPORT TO 97 HOMELESS/REENTRY PARTICIPANTS (HARRISONBURG AND ROCKINGHAM) AND 30 RURAL PARTICIPANTS (SHENANDOAH AND PAGE COUNTY). PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS ALSO PROVIDED INDIVIDUAL AND/OR GROUP MENTORING TO 92 SCHOOL-AGED KIDS AND EQUIPPED 100 CLASSROOMS WITH SENSORY SUPPLIES TO HELP KIDS COPE WITH STRESS AND OTHER BIG EMOTIONS. THEY ALSO CONDUCTED 145 HIV AND 95 HEPATITIS C RAPID TESTS, PROVIDED 49 HOME HIV TEST KITS, AND DISTRIBUTED OVER 4,000 CONDOMS TO AT RISK POPULATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED THREE TRAININGS ON TRAUMA-INFORMED PRACTICES FOR A FREE CLINIC, REGIONAL SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS, AND MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS AND TEACHERS. FINALLY, STAFF SHARED THEIR PERSONAL RECOVERY STORIES WITH 100S OF PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY TO GROW HOPE AND ADVOCATE FOR THE NEEDS OF PEERS SEEKING RECOVERY.
