As the designated fundraising entity for El Paso Children's Hospital (EPCH), the Foundation raises funds for EPCH and Children's Miracle Network (CMN) through grants, major gifts, events and annual campaigns with a strategic focus that aligns with the hospital to bring the most specialized and quality care of services to the pediatric population throughout the region. In FY19, the Foundation granted $1,466,917 to EPCH which consisted of medical equipment, building expansions and program support, which includes but is not limited to: Equipment . $127,400 for the Biofire Film Array Torch Analyzer for the Laboratory to provide prompt turn around results for viral and immunological tests which improves patient treatment and care. . $93,892 for 10 pediatric Hematology/Oncology beds to accommodate older patients when there is a high patient census. . $45,885 for the Life Pulse Ventilator in the NICU to provide artificial life support for acutely ill premature babies who are more fragile and not able to be managed on conventional ventilators. . $30,000 for ENT Drills for the Surgery Department to be able to perform microscopic, more advanced procedures. Building Expansions . $287,544 for the Emergency Department Expansion Project to add additional patient bays to serve the growing volume and be able to treat more patients. . $60,200 for the clinic space to be able to expand pediatric specialty services with the on-boarding of four new physicians. General Patient Care . $183,530 for the GetWell TV system that is in each patient room with features such as age appropriate games, entertainment and patient education. . $158,272 for the Child Life Program, which funds Child Life Specialists and is the city's only in- hospital therapeutic arts program. . $162,000 for the Care Progression and Redesign Project to assist with care continuum optimization with inpatient and outpatient service lines. In the upcoming year, the focus of the Foundation will be to support the development of the Neuro Program, Children's Oncology Group, Cardiology and the Child Life Program.
