The mission of bridging voices is to create a safe, welcoming and accessible place for queer, straight, and questioning youth to experience empowerment and unity through music. we believe bridges are better than walls and aim to break down the foundations of homophobia and transphobia through diversity and visibility.

Accomplishments
- Self-produced concert performances:two main concerts were held during the our 2018-19 season. our holiday concert "magic within" (december 2018). and our pride concert "world of love." total audience attendance was 950. Expenses $15,539.
- Membership: we are a non-audition chorus, composed of youth aged 13-21 who identify as lgbtq or ally. our 2018 - 2019 active membership included 62 youth from 40 schools representing ten school districts, from the greater portland/vancouver area including banks, beaverton, camas, canby, david douglas, gresham, hillsboro, milwaukie, oregon city, portland public, west linn. we are particularly proud of the relationships created between parents and families, leading to a stronger organizational investment overall. Expenses $1,304.
- Outreach: we had 21 total outreach events from september 2018 through june 2019:9 outreach performances increased our audience by 4,500.6 presentations to middle school gsa clubs, community events, additional non-profit organizations, and the portland public schools gsa summit reached an estimated 2,000 youth and supportive organizations.6 tabling events, where we had the opportunity to interact with attendees at community concerts, professional conferences, and the 2019 portland pride festival.through these events we were able to share our message of community, inclusion, personal identity, peer support, family inclusion, and welcoming/safe spaces. Expenses $1,456.
- As we continue to grow, we have become the largest lgbtq youth chorus in the nation. completing out sixth season of serving the community, our program continues to strive to bring together lgbtq youth from across and beyond the portland and vancouver metro areas, uniting in a shared experience of music and community that is unlike any other program available. through solo, small group, and speaking opportunitites our members devel0p a sense of self and accomplishment that has led many to leadership positions in their schools and communities. we continue to expand youth leadership opportunities within the chorus, creating a shared committment to the success of both concerts and season.
