About this organization
Mission
The mission of Movement 5280 is to provide a "family of support" to homeless youth who have aged out of foster care and other at-risk young people lacking guidance as they transition to adulthood.
About
Movement 5280 was launched in 2010 by Denver First Church of the Nazarene. In 2019, Movement 5280 became its own 501(c)(3), an important step to expand our services and programs. We outgrew our space and moved to South Broadway in Denver, and then in 2019, to our current location on 3485 South Broadway in Englewood. In the last several years, Movement 5280 has grown substantially in its outreach, volunteers, staff and financially. Many organizations and other churches have come alongside Movement 5280 both with volunteers, staffing and financial support. Many of our young people who attended in the beginning of Movement 5280 are still part of our Movement 5280 family. They continue to volunteer, are in our Job Readiness program, and attend weekly Lost and Found Church. We have many different types of resources. We provide basic needs such as food, shower, hygiene, clothes, and a day shelter. We are part of a coordinated entry system that allows us to help coordinate adding clients to the housing list. We provide addiction support services, mental health, and group therapy. We also have a readiness-to-work-program, life skills training, and mentorship. We have personal navigation to help coordinate care. We help with vital documents. We are an approved site to do VI-SPDATS for single adults, families, and young adults. We love to walk alongside our clients and provide a "family of support".
