Black in AI is a place for sharing ideas, fostering collaborations, and discussing initiatives to increase the presence of black people in the field of artificial intelligence. This is done by bringing people together via Google Group (1346 members), Facebook Group (847 members), form (846 members), Twitter and other social media websites. People also attend dinners and workshops to collaborate and obtain new jobs internships, schooling, PhD opportunities, fellowships, and speaking engagements. There are over 200 people from the BAI community applying to graduate programs in the US, Canada, UK, and other countries with over 80 mentors signed up to shepherd the application process.
