About

Kent Denver School (the school) is an independent school for grades six through twelve, located in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado. The mission of the school is to provide a sound academic education to its students in an environment that nurtures their social and emotional growth. The school's objective is to work with families to encourage intellectual curiosity, independent thinking, and moral development in students, and to establish a foundation for learning in college and throughout life. The school provides educational instruction to approximately 700 students, and funds its operations primarily from tuition, fees, contributions and investment income. The school also conducts the Breakthrough Program (the program) through which it offers a rigorous academic curriculum for motivated Denver Public School students at no cost to the students or their families. Approximately 185 middle school students, primarily from low-income families, participate in the six-week program, which is taught by high school and college students. A mentorship program continues through the academic year, during which high school tutors meet weekly with the program students. The school's financial statements include the activities of the program.
