About
Older Americans - The purpose of the long-term care ombudsman program is to investigate complaints of residents of long-term care facilities (including nursing homes and assisted living residences) or their family members regarding care, treatment or rights violations. The legal assistance developer provides leadership for improving the quality and quantity of legal and advocacy assistance to ensure a comprehensive elder rights system. This includes developing, monitoring, evaluating and coordinating available legal services for older persons statewide. The developer also provides technical assistance to the state long-term care ombudsman program on issues of drafting legislation and interpretation of current laws as well as training.
