Durango Education Center provides essential education services to those most in need through: 1) adult basic literacy instruction and high school equivalency diploma preparation and testing; 2) English as a second language classes and citizenship preparation; 3) community education and industry certification testing to improve work skills and employability; and 4) career transition and support activities leading to self-sufficiency. In 2018, we served over 400 students in our adult literacy programs, helped 54 students earn a high school equivalency diploma (GED), provided childcare to 34 children while their parents attended classes, and administered 268 industry certification exams.
