About this organization
About
The idea for PADL originated in 2015. As many of the large scale events had escalated in expense and size, there was a need for a more intimate event where partygoers and allies alike could celebrate together at a party that was all about the music. In its inaugural year of 2016, the event broke even, however, in 2017 the event made a small profit and it immediately gained another purpose: a fundraiser. In subsequent years, the concept blossomed into a month-long campaign for raising money and awareness for various LGBTQIAA+-centric causes and organizations throughout the entirety of June, capped off by the rooftop party on Pride Sunday amidst the energy of the Parade. As time went on, it was clear that PADL needed to be built to scale and to maximize donations. In 2020, "PADL, Ltd." was born as a registered 501©(3) in the state New York.
